Audubon Wetlands Preserve

    Introduction

This 109 Acre park, which borders the Jerome Fork of the Mohican River, has a number of different kinds of very high quality wetlands, including burr reed marsh, buttonbush swamp, vernal pools, and floodplain forest. Wetlands of this quality are becoming rare in Ohio. State threatened plants and animals have been found on this site. Sweet flag is found here.  A 270 ft boardwalk spans the burr reed marsh. This park was made possible with funds  from the Audubon  Society.
