Introduction
Cool springs
wildlife conservation park is 192 acres. Situated on the Jerome Fork of
the Mohican River ,the park has hilly terrain, with grassland, forest
and a large marsh. Approximately 50 acres will be farmed. There are
a number of springs on the property and also a 5 foot waterfall.
These springs feed three ponds that contain trout. There are two main woodlot
areas. One of them is adjacent to a plot that was once owned by Jhonny
Apple seed. There is marshland next to the river north of Mohicanville
Dam. There is a warm season grassland and there will be more planted in
the future. Much of the park will be open to public hunting with
exception to the picnic area located near the spring fed springs.
A parking area is being planned.
