Ashland County Park District Announces
Pine Hill Grand Opening
Saturday, August 21 has been set for the date of the Grand Opening for
Sauers Farm of Pine Hill Park by the Ashland County Park District.
Slated
to begin at 10:00 a.m., the 136 acre portion in Ruggles Township has
grassy meadows, young trees, a memorial woods, farm pond, two barns and
an established
apple orchard with heritage varieties. The program is
expected to offer variety of activities for all ages, including an
historical interpretive, a video display, children's crafts,
demonstrations and walking tours. The planting of a Memorial Tree to
honor the late Jim Sauer is planned.
This much-anticipated addition to the acres of Pine Hill Crall Woods,
previously opened, is located in the north west corner of
Ashland County
for the enjoyment of the people. All terrain vehicles will be available
for seniors and handicap persons to also enjoy the park.
